Trails for America: Every Where, Every Way, Every Day!
The 18th National Trails Symposium will be held Oct. 19 - 22, 2006 in the Quad Cities of Iowa and Illinois. The National Trail Symposium is held every other year and is sponsored by American Trails in conjunction with state and local sponsors.
The Symposium provides an opportunity for greenways and trails advocates, managers, planners and users, outdoor product providers, as well as conservationists, private landowners, and tourism and business interests to come together for an inspirational and educational conference. The Symposium addresses both non-motorized and motorized issues and a national vision for trails and greenways in America. For more information, go to www.americantrails.org.

Mississippi River Trail
"Paint the Fence" Workshop – Oct. 19
As part of the National Trail Symposium, Mississippi River Trail, Inc. will be hosting a day-long MRT Trail forum on Oct. 19 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. The purpose of the forum is to provide a hands-on opportunity for trail planners, developers, advocates, and users to present and discuss various models used to create this multi-dimensional project.
As one of only sixteen National Millennium Trails, the MRT is recognized for “honoring the past and imagining the future as part of America’s legacy”. An important part of the American landscape, the MRT provides real connections between people, the land, our history, and culture.
There is no cost to attend the Mississippi River Trail Forum.
