Become part of a 3,000 mile trail and impact your community for a lifetime!
Join Mississippi River Trail, Inc. (MRT) board of directors, members, partners, and friends as we continue to build the Mississippi River Trail from Itasca, Minnesota to the Gulf of Mexico. One of the nation’s sixteen Millennium Trails, the MRT is a ten state collaboration involving hundreds of individual supporters, local communities, regional planning districts, and state department professionals. Examples of state, regional and local MRT strategies/trail development models will be presented followed by a discussion of similarities and differences. Identification of opportunities to apply the concepts in new ways will help attendees forge new relationships and bring fresh perspectives to local projects. Attendees will be invited to identify new projects in each region and to define steps that will improve Mississippi River Trail, Inc.’s organization in each of the ten Mississippi River Trail states.
During the afternoon session, some of the nation’s leading trail experts will participate in a panel discussion focusing on current trends in trails and cycling in relation to other national and international destination trails.
At the end of the day, join other attendees and Mississippi River Trail board/staff to “paint the town red” with a Quad Cities trail walk and Happy Hour!
